Proper Safety and Handling
- Supervised Use: Never leave the battery charging, discharging, or operating unattended.
- Storage and Environment: Keep the battery in a fire-resistant, temperature-controlled environment away from flammable materials.
- Modifications: Do not attempt to disassemble, puncture, or alter the cell structure.
- State of Charge: For safety, maintain the battery at a conservative charge state—such as between 30% and 80%—during storage and transport.
Transport and Disposal
Do not ship this device through standard mail or public air transportation. Untested prototype lithium batteries are classified as hazardous materials and require specialized packaging under 49 CFR § 173.185(e). Dispose of the battery at an authorized hazardous-waste facility, never in household trash.
