EV Drive standard power modules provide a high-performance alternative to commercial energy modules. EVD modules are designed to deliver maximum power upon demand,dissipate the heat those demands generate, and stand up to extreme conditions of heat, impact, and vibration.
Our Modules start with Molicel lithium ion power cells which provide significantly higher power delivery than standard energy cells. Our large cross section copper interconnect system minimizes power loss from internal resistance.
Our unique encapsulation system and internal structure enables us to obtain the tightest cell density without dangerous cell contact or damage from impact or vibration. The encapsulation material also directs heat to the terminal end plates where it is dissipated by integrated cold plates. The result is that compared with the leading competitors, EV Drive modules maintain the same energy density with over twice the power delivery.
Our proprietary battery management system (BMS) controls charge and maintains optimum cell balance. A BMS board is integrated into each standard module, eliminating the need for bundles of high voltage wires running through the vehicle.
Our large-surface aluminum end plates are situated with a minimal gap between the plate and the cell terminal ends where heat collects, so that in low to medium demand applications,passive or forced-air cooling is all that is needed. For high demand applications one of the plates of each module is replaced by a high-flow integrated cold plate which is more effective and compact than serpentine cooling systems that are often used.
Modules can be configured with a range of voltage outputs to allow the greatest flexibility of battery pack sizes and capabilities. Modules can be provided as stand-alone units to be installed in your fabrication, or in an EVD battery pack with our proprietary Smart PDU (power distribution unit) and liquid cooling system.
